I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Buzz Brothers

Hello Family and Friends, Although the timing is a bit off this year, I have decided to shave my head for kid’s cancer for the 5th year in a row. I have raised nearly $5,000 in my efforts and your very generous donations thru the years. After years of pressuring some friends to get involved, last year I finally had a team which was anchored by 10 year old Daniel Truhlar. Our team raised over $3500. This year Daniel and I have joined forces again to create another team - “Buzz Brothers”. It feels great to be raising money for such an important cause, but it feels even better to be influencing people (even kids) to join in the cause. This year my 5 year old son has agreed to take part in the head shaving as well. Our team has a total of 5 members as of today. If you are interested in joining our team – contact me immediately and I will tell you what to do. So this is the hard part – asking for donations. This year I am not only asking for myself, but for August and the team. Please be generous and give what you can even if it is only a kind word or a prayer. Our training my not be as vigorous as training for a marathon, but we have decided not to get haircuts – more difficult than you think when you normally have short hair. I have a few different looks going right now – usually a baseball cap, but occasionally you will see the 80s feathered part down the middle look from me or the slicked back mafia gangster/evil guy from any 80s movie look. I am trying the Justin Bieber comb forward in the profile pic (not for me). August is looking pretty shaggy as well. So, I cannot wait till May 3rd to shave this mop of hair off my head. Speaking of May 3rd, that is the day of the event. The event is called: Take Me Out to the Bald Game being held at the Schaumburg Boomers Ball Park. It’s on a Friday night and it starts around 5pm and goes until about 9pm. All are welcome!! Let me know if you can come by the event. Over the years, it has felt so good to have so many people at the events supporting me and my family. On a side note, if you know of a family or child with cancer please let me know so that I can “honor” that child in my efforts. Thanks you for all your support and donations. Below is the formal note from St. Baldrick’s: I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
