I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Can you picture me with no hair? Nature is already taking its course in that regard, but I’m going to speed things up by getting my head shaved on Sunday, March 19 in an effort to raise funds for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers.

Sadly, many of us have known a dear child who has heroically battled cancer. For me, it was Bretton Friestedt, a friend of my kids. He fought the battle with such good spirit, and left an indelible mark on all our hearts with his passing at age 13.

In memory of Bretton, and because every kid deserves to live a childhood free of cancer, I am raising money through St. Baldrick’s to help end childhood cancers, and I am asking for your help.

Every dollar contributed is important, and you have my deepest appreciation for any contribution you can make. When you see me with little or no hair over the coming weeks, you’ll be reminded you had a hand in helping St. Baldrick’s in their ongoing efforts to end childhood cancers. And that will surely make you smile!

Thank you. Chebel Mina
