I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Why am I shaving my head to fight children's cancer? Because these kids need to know they're not alone. Because they shouldn't feel like everyone is staring at them because thy are bald. Because little girls should be told and should feel beautiful regardless of the amount of hair on their head. Because its just hair and these kids should not feel like that's one more thing they have to worry about or feel ashamed about when they have cancer, they should wear it like a badge of honor. They're just kids but they're strong enough to fight something that scares everyone!!

As a kid I spent A LOT of time in hospitals. Trying to figure out the next thing that was wrong with me or trying to control what we already knew what was wrong with me. With my experience in mind I cannot being to imagine what it would be like to be a child with cancer. I am doing this in hopes that someday there will be a cure to cancer and kids will spend their days on playgrounds not in hospital rooms.

I think we have all felt that feeling of when tragedy strikes our family and you just want the world around you to come to a stop so you can deal with what is going on, and so that people acknowledge your struggle and let you know that you are not alone and that you aren't ignored. This is my way to acknowledge all of the children and their parents to let them know that they are not forgotten, that they are not alone.

Please donate if you are willing and able.

Thank you!

I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
