I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
A little backstory: The ACB in our team name is for Anna Christina Brown... Chrissie, my best friend from 1982 until her death in 2001 from cancer. I was a part of her incredible family for many years and she was a part of mine. My parents thought of her as a second daughter; as the Browns did of me. Chrissie will forever own a piece of my heart. She loved kids; and children who suffered from cancer were near and dear to her heart. I will shave my head on March 15, 2013 (almost 12 years to the day of her passing) as a tribute to HER life and MY memories of our MANY good times together. I shave my head so that children's cancers can be eradicated.
NOW: Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail.
