HI EVERYBODY! My name is Lyle Yost. On St. Patricks day this year, I shaved my head to raise money for childhood cancer.
The St. Baldrick's foundation funds some of the best childhood cancer research facilities in the world. Each year on Saint Patrick's day, they host head-shaving events across the nation. In 2012, the St. Baldrick's Foundation was able to raise more than $25 million in childhood cancer research grants worldwide.
Grant funds have been distributed to the over 230 institutions of the Children's Oncology Group (COG) for laboratory research and to help make clinical trials available to more children than ever, giving them treatment that offers the best chance for a cure.
Of every dollar raised, 82% funds research to find a cure, 16% goes to fundraising (website, phones, postage, printing, t-shirts, office space, staff, etc.) and 2% goes to administration (accounting, distributing and monitoring grants, etc.).
This year, I have a personal goal of $1,500 for St. Baldrick's. If you could help me, that would be amazing and greatly appreciated.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
There is still time to donate to my cause - you can click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail. To make cash donations, email me at lylebspy@roadrunner.com, and we'll talk.
If you would like to become a shavee yourself, you can go to the St. Baldricks website, click "Get Involved," then click "Be a Shavee".
And please, don't be afraid to send this link to all of your friends and family. Thank you!
