I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hey everyone! This year I really have faced the fact that not everything in life always goes well. Not everything always goes the way we all plan it out to be. There is going to be some setbacks, obstacles, and hardships. And most importantly, this year I really understood how grateful I am for the things in my life. Many kids, the same age as me, go through unimaginable hardships as they face the fact that they have cancer. Cancer has long affected my family. Both of my grandmothers died from it, one to breast cancer and one to lung cancer. Plus, both of my grandfathers died of it too. Cancer seems to affect everyone in some way, shape, or form. The fact that children have to face the terrible wrath of it absolutely astonishes me in two ways. At first, I think about how hard it must be to be in their position. How hard each day is to fight cancer, and to keep going. But on the other hand, I think about how brave and how strong they must be. Strong doesn't even classify it. It is beyond just strength that gets them through it. It is the unwavering support of their community to help them out, to share a story with them, to make them smile, to help them see the other side of cancer. That other side of cancer is hope. Hope for a future, hope for a cure, and hope that inspires everyone in the community. With that I ask all of you, let's all give these kids hope, let's give them the extra bit of strength that they desire. Please help me reach my goal of $1250 as we help to bring hope to all that desire it.
