I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Unfortunately a close friend informed me that her best friends nephew Ryan received his diagnosis yesterday afternoon: Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage IVB. "It is much more advanced then anyone could even think. Ryan is a fighter. A FIGHTER. He is a happy, positive, funny, compassionate (to a fault), smart kid. He will beat the cancer. Ryan's parents had some alone time with him yesterday after they met with the doctor. They explained to him what he has and what he will have to endure to get better. I am not sure what a 10-yr-old can comprehend but when they got home Ryan seemed ok and had a positive attitude. He knows he has cancer and that it is advanced but the doctors' will do everything they can to make him well again. Everyone is feeling optimistic and everyone believes Ryan doesn't have a choice. He HAS to fight this, he has to. And we'll help him."
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
