I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: S.M.I.L.E.

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: S.M.I.L.E.

I once asked my boyfriend what he would do if I ever shaved my head, and he said he would shave his, too. When I asked that question, I never thought that I would actually be shaving my head. Then I heard about St. Baldrick's through SMILE, and here we are today, signing up to get our heads shaved in order to raise money to support pediatric cancer research.
This might make it seem like I'm just shaving my head on a whim, but I'm not. I actually quite like my hair, but I've always loved kids. I try to get involved with them in whatever way possible, from babysitting to teaching preschool to volunteering at Dell Children's Hospital. I'm currently working towards becoming a child psychiatrist.
I've donated my hair before and I plan to donate it again when I "Go Bald for a Bold Cause" on April 13th, 2013. Hair grows back, so why not shave it off to raise much needed money for an amazing cause? Every little bit helps, so please donate whatever you can so that I can reach and even surpass my goal in the hope of ending pediatric cancer.
