I will be shaving my head on March 10 at The Harp Irish Pub in Roswell, GA to raise money and awareness for St. Baldrick's Foundation. St. Baldrick's focuses on research into the cancers that typically affect infants, children, teens, and young adults. I shave my head in solidarity with the thousands of these kids who typically lose their hair as a result of chemotherapy treatments. Additionally and more importantly, I help raise money to fund grants for cancer research & development.
You can help support this noble cause by donating "on my head"! You can donate online here at my shavee page, or you can come out to the Harp on the 10th, between 1 and 5 PM, and show your support in the flesh! It's a very fun time; there's music, Irish dancers, performers, good company, and good food and drink!
2013 marks the 5th year that I will be shaving my head for this wonderful organization, and in the past year I have been affected more by cancer than arguably I have in my entire life. My mother finished chemotherapy treatments and has been cancer-free since then. My father-in-law recently began chemotherapy. And, one of my close friends whom I have known since high school has found love with a lovely young lady who is a cancer survivor. As a result, I have a deeper understanding and respect for all the participants in this and all St. Baldrick's events.
Thanks in advance for your support!
