I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hi everyone, this is the 3rd year for me and NetApp with St.Baldricks and this year I've chosen to offer a personalized tribute. Around 15 years ago (can't believe how quick time passes) I lost a University roommate and good friend to Lymphoma. I recall, to this day, the last conversation I had with him, on Christmas break when he called me to say goodbye. I didn't realize it at the time and with a 23 year olds life perspective I offered support and encouragement to him that he would be OK. But in hindsight I realized why he was calling. Within a week or so he passed. Even though I knew and lived with him for whats now 10% of my life, this event did change the path of my life and I owe so much of my personal inspiration to Mario. With time passing, hustle of life and active kids I rarely speak of it now, but in quiet moments from time to time I often reflect. The courage he had. And for his family to have lost two of their children to cancer I cannot, with children of my own, begin to understand the loss. For me, when I think of inspiration I think about him as he didn't get the opportunity to carry on and I do. I know everyone likely has a shared experience with this disease, this is mine and I try in my own way to help. I miss you Mario, Andy
