I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dear Friends and Family: Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site! On March 12, 2009 I will be cutting off 10 inches of my hair to donate to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths campaign (www.pantenebeautifullengths.com). This wonderful organization makes wigs for women suffering from the effects of chemotherapy while being treated for cervical or breast cancer. As many of you know, this is my third time donating my hair and I thought that there must be another way to not only raise awareness for cancer research but also to raise some funds to support that research. That is where the St. Baldrick's Foundation comes in! Through St. Baldrick's, each year thousands of people shave their heads in solidarity with kids that lose their hair during cancer treatment. I want to be 100% clear that I won't personally be shaving my head (I'm not quite that brave) but I want to do all that I can to raise money to find a cure for pediatric cancers! Each year more than 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in North America. I'm out to help change that! Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. To make a donation, click on "Donate Online" or "Donate by mail or phone." Thank you all for your continued support--I am eternally grateful! Love, Lezlie
