I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
I have chosen to honor Lilly Mastnak, the little sister of one of Brayden's classmates. 7 month old Lilly was diagnosed with a germ cell tumor (stage 4). She underwent surgery to remove a large tumor from her tailbone and then was immediately started on an aggressive course of chemotherapy to target nodules in her lungs. In the past five months, Lilly has undergone two surgeries, seven impatient hospital admissions, and six rounds of chemotherapy. Due to the expertise, compassion, and hard work of her treatment team at Cardinal Glennon, Lilly's parents are proud to announce that she is now (as of January 8, 2013) cancer free! :) I have posted the beautiful Lilly's picture in my photo album, what an adorable smile!!!
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
