Ya know, there are some things you do because they need to be done - take out the garbage, vacuum the floor, scrape who knows what off the bottom of the kids’ shoes, etc. And there are some things you want to do like watch the Super Bowl, take a vacation and wrap things in bacon. It’s not often enough that you do something that needs to be done that you want to do. Getting my annual down-to-the-root haircut is one of those things for me. Children’s Cancer NEEDS to be fought and I WANT to do something to help. St. Baldrick’s gives me opportunity and I am thankful for it. But to do so, I need the help of all my family and friends like you.
Please donate on my noggin’ again this year. I have upped my goal to every year and I have yet to be let down. To inspire you as much as I can, I offer the following.
1. It’s a full size 8 head of hair. Try on a size 8 hat, if you can find one, and you’ll see, it’s a serious brain bucket.
2. Hair growth – my last hair cut was Nov. 7 so we are looking at a full 16 weeks of growth. Typically, that would be 4 haircuts for me during the same time.
3. Limited Begging – I do this once a year and push for like 4 weeks and call it good. It’s not pretty but I do what I gotta do.
I celebrate the health of my boys every year by doing this. It makes for a pretty cold March in Iowa but if it helps just one child and family, what’s a little chill on the scalp? This will be my 5th shave. Just for fun, I’d like all my donations to end in a 5 – not that I’m going to turn any that end in multiple zeros away but what the heck, right?
Feeling like a Hippie and lovin’ it!
Chuck
By the way... the video on this page is from my first shave thanks to KGGO's Legendary morning guy Lou Sipolt!
