Why donate to St. Baldricks??? •Every year, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. •Cancer is the number one disease killer of children in the US. •One in five children diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. will not survive. •Less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget is directed to childhood cancer research. •St. Baldrick’s is responsible with your donation - run almost solely by volunteers, almost all of the money goes directly to research. •In 2012 alone, St. Baldrick’s granted more than $23 million for research – almost all raised by shavees. •St. Baldrick’s has funded the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the world’s largest pediatric cancer research network and provided research funding to more than 200 institutions with the expertise to treat childhood cancers, across the U.S. and beyond.
