I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

In honor of my 45th birthday I'm having my head shaved on March 15th 2013 at BAA starting at 4:30 pm! I'm honoring Amelia Gorton, from Green Bay, WI who was diagnosed at 2 year(s) with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). She was treated at St Vincent Hospital Green Bay, WI and she is currently cancer free. Amen!! I stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, who typically lose their hair during treatment. More importantly, I'm doing it to raise funds for childhood cancer research! Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. We must all do everything we can to give kids a better chance for a cure. To support me on behalf of these very special kids, please "Make a Donation". I will also be donating my cut hair to Locks of Love which is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They use donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses they provide help to restore self-esteem and confidence, enabling children to face the world and their peers. Thank you for your support!
