On April 24, 2011 my life was forever changed. That was the day my husband and I were told that our then 8 month old daughter Gwen had some form of cancer. Her fight began immediately after her AML diagnosis and we spent the majority of the summer admitted to the hospital receiving treatment. While things seemed to go well the first two months, she suffered an aggressive relapse in July and ultimately lost her battle in August, just weeks shy of her first birthday. Gwen taught me so much in her short time with us and I will live the rest of my life continuing her fight.
I have registered to have my head shaved to stand in solidarity with all those that have been touched by childhood cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
Thank you!
