We are joining St. Baldricks this year to honor our biggest hero! Our son Ryan Wagner. Ryan had anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Initially the prognosis was looking good. Ryan did great on the chemotherapy regimn for about 5 months. Sometime in February it was discovered that Ryan was no longer responding to the chemo. A bone marrow transplant would be needed and we had a perfect match.Ryans oldest brother my oldest son was a perfect sibling match! But we would never make it to the bone marrow transplant, Ryan's cancer was much too aggresive and he did not respond well to the needed bridge chemotherapy. In the end the cancer was too much and after only a ten month battle with cancer, Ryan Dustin Wagner took his last breath on July 29th, 2011.
Ryan was only six years old and our hearts are forever broken. Somehow though we must go on and keep breathing, keep swimming. We live for him now, and he lives in our hearts and in the hearts of so many others. Please join our team "Ryans Light" and honor our baby boy. Show your support for our brave little warrior who the world has lost way to soon. I know in my heart that Ryan would have gone on to do great things in his life...he was awesome. He still has the power now even in his death to change the world, to change lives. And that is what we are doing for him, because he no longer can.
I think of you Ryan, every day all day and dream of you at night, you are my last thought before I fall asleep at night, my first thought when I awake. Oh it pains me still to write the words passed away died or no longer living. So I say he is forever alive within us and he lives inside of my heart and in the hearts of so many others now. We are doing everyhting we can baby, to keep your memory alive, and to honor you every chance we get, and every day for the rest of our lives. We will see you again sweet baby boy, somewhere over that rainbow, and until then just know you are in our hearts and souls forever
