I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Mighty Mikey

Hi! My name is Katie. I'm 10 years old and in the 4th grade. I love to sing, listen to music, swim and play on the computer. I have 2 little brothers... Michael is 6 and Timmy is 2. I loved cutting my hair last year for Mikey, Emily, Eddie and all of the kids with cancer that I want to do it again this year! I know my hair is short in my picture but I've got time before our next St. Baldrick's 'Hair cutting party' (that's what Michael calls the event) to keep growing it out and that's what I'm going to do so I can cut it off again! My brother Michael is in the picture with me. He has cancer. The tumors are in his brain and spine. He was on chemo for over 3 years. He hasn't had chemo since February but he still spends a lot of time at Sloan Kettering with my mom and dad. He's shaving his head this year... or as he says, he's 'buzzing his hair off at the hair cutting party!'. He's funny sometimes. He is happy he's 'buzzing his hair off' and he knows the hair cutting party is for St. Baldrick's. When you ask Michael what St. Baldrick's is he says 'they help kids with tumor boo boos like me!' So, I'm cutting my hair and he's shaving his head to help all of the kids with tumor boo boos like Michael! It's hard having a brother with cancer. My brother didn't get to pick to have cancer. I did pick to cut my hair to help raise money so that other kids don't have brothers and sisters who get cancer. Please donate on my Ponytail and on Michael's hair buzz to help Michael and all of the other kids out there who are sick like him! Thank you very much!
