I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Kayla was disgnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on December 21, 2008. She started chemo the next day. It only took a few weeks for her hair to start falling out. She would run her hands through it and giggle at how much would come out in her hands. Before her hair fell out we had talked about what was going to happen and how she was going to look. She was so excited to shave her head because her Daddy was going to shave his too. You see, two days before Kayla was diagnosed we found out that Jimmy had a huge mass in his chest but we didn't know what it was. (We found out 2 months later that it was Hodgkins Lymphoma) After she was bald she told me "My hair is like a tree in Fall." <3 I will be shaving to honor her and all kids that have gone through or are going though treatment. Please help in any way that you can.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail.
By shaving my head I will be taking back what cancer took from me. The ability to make my own choice.
