On April 14, I am shaving my head to raise money for the St. Baldricks Foundation.
I did some research about cancer on the internet. I learned that cancer can kill you easily. There are hundreds of types of cancer. There are even some that are unknown. There are 8 types of childhood cancers – Leukemia, Brain and other nervous system tumors, Neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor, Lymphoma, Rhabdomyosarcoma, Retinoblastoma, and Bone Cancer. There are many treatments for cancer, the common ones are radiation therapy and chemotherapy. These treatments don’t always work, and have many side effects such as hair loss. However, there is still a lot of research to be done to completely cure cancer.
"The St. Baldrick's Foundation is committed to funding the best research for kids with cancer and the top pediatric oncologists in the U.S. guide our research priorities."
I would have liked to donate my hair to make wigs for kids who need them, but my hair too is short. Instead, I am shaving it to show my support and raising money to help St. Baldricks.
I hope I can count on your support this year.
Thank you.
