I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dear Friends, please give me 2 minutes of your time to read this message. As you may or may not know I was recently diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and have now completed my treatment which involved surgery to remove my thyroid and radiation to kill any remaining cancer cells. Ironically this all occurred in the midst of me changing careers. I had decided in October of 2011 to start applying my knowledge of fitness and wellness to childhood cancer patients and survivors. I am now working with an incredible organization called Play Fit-Stay Fit to offer Free Fitness/Wellness classes for child cancer survivors and their families (www.playfitstayfit.org). Part of this journey had led me to interacting with the Life Survivorship Program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Through this connection I learned about the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Children's Hospital Los Angeles is coordinating a special event on April 14th with St. Baldrick's to raise support and awareness for children's cancer research. The goal for CHLA is to qualify for a $250,000 grant to fund the unique research they are doing to fight childhood cancer and provide programs that support the survivors. I have decided to participate in this event and shave my head. As I was fortunate to not lose my hair through my own cancer treatment, many child cancer patients are not as lucky. SO what I am asking from you is to please support this incredible event and me going bald. The more people that support the better as it is not as much about total dollars raised as it is how many people support this program for CHLA to qualify for the grant. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail. All my best, Robb
