I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

In 1999 I was diagnosed with a hereditary form of Thyroid Cancer. The same type of cancer affected many members of my family and has a 50% chance of being passed onto my children. The good news is because of the type of research supported by St. Baldricks we not only are able to detect the cancer early, it is now 100% curable. This coming May my wife and I are expecting our second child, so we now feel doubly blessed and want to do as much as we can to give other children the opportunity my daughter Olivia and her siblings will have. There are many ways you can help me:

1. Please consider coming out next Thursday (3/22) from 4:30 – 8pm to the Iris Lounge in Tysons Corner: 1524 Spring Hill Rd Mclean, VA 22102. You will be able to see all of the shavee’s, hear more about the mission of St. Baldricks, and also participate in a fun and uplifting event. You may even be inspired to join the rest of us on stage!
2. Please consider making a donation – no amount is too small. This year Milena and I have decided to match dollar for dollar every contribution up to my goal! Last year I finished only $50 in fundraising behind Justin Tuck of the New York Giants… I’m hoping this year I can change that!
3. Please consider spreading the news about the event and our cause. Feel free to reach out to me for more information, we appreciate any and all support!

I cannot thank you enough for any support for this great and very personal cause for my family,

Darren
