In July of 2011, one of my co-workers was confronted with an unimaginable situation. During a regularly scheduled check up for their two year old daughter, the doctors found that Scarlett was suffering from an acute case of Leukemia, known as AML M7 Leukemia. For the remainder of the year, Scarlett McGraw fought through more as a two year old than most do in a life time. During this time, her family anxiously and nervously waited with their daughter at Johns Hopkins praying and hoping the treatments would work. Fortunately, the aggressive treatments that Scarlett endured during those six months worked and she was able to make it home for the holidays with her family. More importantly, she is continuing to get stronger and is closer to feeling like a 2 year old again.
In order to show my support for this fight and cause, I’m participating in a fund raising event in which we will be shaving their heads in support of Scarlett and all of those who have been affected by this horrible disease. I’m asking for your support to at least familiarize yourself with this story and if you feel so inclined make a donation. I’ve set a very modest goal which I don’t think it’ll be hard to reach and exceed. Please help me in my fight and support of a great cause and helping, Scarlett, the McGraw Family, and the team reach its goal.
