I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Princess Brooke

My name is Shannon, I am 20 years old and God has blessed me with healthy, long, strong hair...I've never been the one to obsess over making it look fantastic before leaving the house. At 16 I wanted to shave my head because I could. With no real gut behind it the idea was put on the shelf until the month before graduating High school, after a few people in my life asked me not to, the idea was once again put on a shelf. After a semester of college and in the middle of a move to Australia I wanted to do it again...or still! I started justifying why I shouldn't do it because of getting married, or graduating college, or wanting to get a job...or whatever excuse you could come up with I thought of! Then I felt this feeling of "why do you get to choose when you have hair but people with cancer don't..." TOUCHE. So after 4 years of avoiding shaving my head for one reason or another, the day has finally come. I have chosen St. Baldrick's because I love children and could not stand to see one of my siblings, or my niece, or my best friend's babies having to fight cancer. I want to assist families around the metro area to have hope in finding a cure. Money is often what hold's someone back from accomplishing great things...why let lack of funds keep 1000s of children from being healthy when support can come from head shaving! Hair grows back!! I'm not asking you to up and shave your head but merely walk along side of me in this journey of fighting the obstacles of cancer research. So I am asking for your support, your support for these kids who are fighting the toughest battle they have yet to face. Thank you!
