It just so happens that St. Patricks Day and my birthday are right around the corner from each other. A week of Guinness and Irish Car bombs, i could not be more excited to share this time with my family and closest friends. This weekend has a different weight for me as well. One night while at 22 north after enjoying a few of the beverages that i just mentioned I got into a conversation with someone with an, for lack of a better word, EPIC beard. I asked him if there was a reason why he had he had this wonderful shine of hair on his face, thats when i learned about St. Baldrick's. On St. Patrick's Day groups of people devote themselves to raising money an awareness to childhood cancer research by getting sponsored by friends, family, coworkers, facebook friends, twitter followers, ANYONE! These sponsors or giving money for you to shave your head for the simple goal of childhood cancer awareness and research. The beard of the gentleman that i mentioned earlier was just a bit of added devotion. I am a firm believer in the saying "Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut" so i woke up the next morning motivated to help this cause (Ernest Hemingway). My goal is 500 dollars, and with over 1,000 facebook friends a 50 cent donation will be more than enough, and for those of you that I will see out this weekend wanting to buy me a "birthday shot" i will decline and ask you to make a donation instead. Lets help theses kids! God Bless!

I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
