I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

This will be my fifth year participating in the St. Baldrick's event held in Northport. I will once again be shaving to support this wonderful organization which is dedicated to finding a cure for Childhood Cancer. My daughter has been cancer free for for almost five years now and our family knows how lucky we are. Gwen is a survivor, but unfortunately, there are still too many kids who do not survive. There have been great strides made even since Gwen was diagnosed six years ago. The doctors and hospitals that St. Baldrick's supports are working to stamp out Childhood Cancer forever. On their path to finding a cure, they are also working on less toxic treatments to fight the disease. Gwen received a massive amount of chemotherapy drugs and radiation. She will be affected by their side effects for the rest of her life. Her vision, her teeth, her heart were all affected. She is subject to learning disabilities. She may even develop secondary cancers because of her treatment. But we consider her lucky because she survived. If you can help, please do. Any amount is greatly needed and appreciated. God Bless, Brian
