The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a special charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any other organization. Tricia's friend, Kelly, has an adorable nephew named Shane. In January 2010, Shane was diagnosed with multiple brain tumors (pilo mixoid astrocytoma). He left the hospital on his 4th birthday following a three week stay after brain surgery. He has been through chemo and radiation over the last year and has handled treatment well. Shane had his second transcraniotomy on April 15th, 2011, less than 4 weeks after the St. Baldrick's event last year. Shane's year was filled with challenges so we pray for a happy and healthy 2012. Shane's family remains hopeful that he will find a way to beat this cancer. His spirit is extraordinary; we can all take a lesson from Shane. This is why I have decided to answer the call to stand in solidarity with the courageous young children who are dealing with illness every day!
