When I was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 14 I was expected to not only have chemo but also possibly loose my leg. By a miracle I was rediagnosed with Leio Myo Sarcoma. Leio Myo Sarcoma does not respond to chemo and therefor I did not have to loose my hair through surgeries and radiation treatment. Today I am 5 years cancer free and officially cured. I am participating in St. Baldricks to raise money and support for my friends who are still facing this disease. I am telling cancer that no matter what it cannot take away my beauty and my spirit. I would like to dedicate my participation to all the friends I have lost to cancer: Shane, Kyra, Zach, Stephanie, Dalanie. But most of all to my best friend Stephany Ann Griswold. She is a two time Hodgkins Lymphoma survivor and she brought me back to life after my diagnosis. She is my angel. For everyone who supported my family thank you, and please help us one last time by helping other families who need us just like we needed you.
Facebook post from my dear Stephany Griswold:
6 years ago I was asked to help mentor this freshman through her diagnosis of cancer I was 17 at the time and a senior in high school and had gone through 2 diagnosis's my self. Since that day this girl has become my best friend and someone I can't even imagine my life without. We have laughed together and cried together over the losses of friends that didn't make it and now she is stepping up and doing one of the most self less acts ever. She has volunteered to shave her head to help support St. Baldrick's day. Please consider supporting her with a donation! It would mean a lot to me to have everyones support! Thank you!
