I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Find Courage in Carter

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Find Courage in Carter

Why am I having my hair cut? My 11 month nephew, Carter Whipple-Button, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at 3 months old. Since then, he's undergone a series of operations, sedations, blood transfusions on top of several rounds of intense chemotherapy and other treatments during his 8 month stay at McMaster Children's Hospital. He went into remission in December, but on Sunday February 5th they found a brain tumour in his head 1/4 the size of his brain. Currently, he is recovering from surgery from having most of this tumour removed, and we are waiting to hear the results of the biopsy from the tumour. Fingers crossed that it can be treated.

I am getting my haircut to support all of the children who are suffering from cancer just like Carter has been. While I want to raise money to go towards Children's Cancer Research, we are also having a fundraiser for Carter and his family on March 10th 2012 and are hoping to raise as much as possible for Carter, his parents and his 3 year old brother, Noah, to get through these hard times.
