This will make the 4th year in a row that I have shaved my head to raise both money and awareness for the multiple individuals in my own life that have fought and sometimes lost their battle with cancer. Back in 2000 my grandfather lost his battle with brain cancer and i tried to figure out a way to remember him. In 2009 the 10th anniversary of his diagnosis i shaved my head for the first time. I know that it would make him proud. I hope one day that i do not have to shave because we have found a cure for all of the cancers out there in our world.
This is a special year because I am not only doing it in memory of my grandfather but also for my sister-in-law Judy who passed away. This year I also want three very special people to know that their fight is not happening without support.
JUDY...SHIRLEY...AND DEE THIS YEAR I HOPE THAT WHEN YOU SEE ME FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER THE EVENT YOU KNOW THAT I DID THIS FOR YOU ALL. I WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW THAT YOU ALL MEAN THE WORLD TO ME AND I PRAY FOR YOU DAILY AND I WILL DO THIS EVERY YEAR UNTIL WONDERFUL PEOPLE LIKE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FIGHT THIS AWFUL DISEASE. I LOVE YOU ALL AND HOPE YOU ALL TRULY KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE SUPPORTING YOU EVERY DAY.
Now you can help. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail.
