Dear Friends and Family,
I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Why? Because since our good friend Joey from Indianapolis, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2005, a million other kids have been diagnosed with cancer. Of those, 20 percent have died, including each of Joey's roommates during his stays at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Joey is now counted as a "survivor" and is living a normal life as a 15-year-old freshman in high school with his twin brother Robbie, older siblings Sally and Charlie and parents Chuck and Bridgett. His leg is better than it’s been in years – a fact just confirmed by his surgeon when Joey and his dad were in NY for his annual follow-up two weeks ago.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Click "Make a donation" to give online, or donate by phone or mail.
Thanks for your consideration!!
