I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: NetApp Global Team

Hello Family and Friends,

I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

I have chosen to let my shaved head honor a 3 year old named Benjamin. Benjamin is a sweet little boy who loves to watch things in motion, play with his superheroes (Buzz and Spiderman), climb on the playground, give big smiles, and even bigger hugs. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL B-Cell) when he was almost three. On the day of diagnosis, his blood was 97% saturated with Cancer and had an enlarged liver and spleen. For the next 8 months he would pick his toy out of the toybox each week to take to the clinic and 'go fight cancer'. He fights hard, never complains, and always has a smile. He is in his 4th and final phase of treatment that will last 2 1/2 more years. Benjamin's cancer is currently in remission. You can see a picture of Benjamin here:

I lost my father to cancer in September of 2000 and have seen first hand the devastating toll that this disease can have on an individual, as well as the friends and family supporting him. My father had previously beaten cancer, in 1997 but the 2000 battle was much more aggressive. My dad was not a child at the time of his last diagnosis, but ironically the type of cancer that hit him was very rare and usually only found in children.

My hope is that my shaved head, along with the other shavee's, shavers and volunteer participation will push forward the fight to quickly diagnose, treat and cure this deadly disease.

Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
