I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Team Alyse
I don't even remember how long ago it was when Casey told me she was going to shave her head this coming March. The Zabels have been a part of my life for years and Casey has been more like a sister than a friend to me the last couple of years. So it was a no brainer to me that when she committed to this so would I. When I got asked to join the Youth Villages team in Tennessee in December one of the first thoughts was, how am I going to keep this commitment to Alyse and her family?? God came through and my job approved me to shave my head! Alyse was special. Not just because she was 15 years old and died of Leukemia. That never defined her. What defined her was her love for God. There was a presence about her. You just felt it! When you walked in the room you knew God was with her. On March 11th I know that she'll be in Heaven looking down on all of us. It was an honor and a privilege to know this special young woman. We all shave our head in remembrance of her and for the other children who have or will have cancer! Thanks so much for teaming with us!
