This event means so much to me. I have been completely blessed to see St. Baldrick's in action for several years. At the event last year, I watched a 72 year old woman shave her head for her grandchild and decided then and there that I was going to do it!!!!!
I have been so blessed to know Sarah Nyberg for almost 20 years. She is one of the strongest women I know. I still remember the day that I received the call from Sarah when Caleb was diagnosed with ALL. I remember sitting in my car shaking... I didn't even have any words to console her... I couldn't even imagine being in her place. And through the years, Sarah has been Caleb's biggest champion! I LOVE HER!
And through all of this Caleb has never stopped smiling! He is so smart and funny and my life has been better for knowing him.... Everyone could learn a thing or two from Caleb!
I will update this page periodically.... Hopefully, put together some better words to express my feelings... but truthfully, me shaving my head does not make me a hero... I have met real heroes.... the Nybergs! Love you guys!
I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
