As many of you know, I have been deeply involved with St. Baldrick’s for over 5 years. My passion for this initiative is for a little boy named Noah. A few years ago I had the privilege to coach him in soccer (he is also good friends with my youngest son Ryan). A week before Christmas in 2007, Noah was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Since December 2007 Noah has been through four operations, numerous bone marrow aspirations, chemo, radiation, countless blood transfusions, countless CAT scans, MRI's, nuclear tests, stem cell collection, daily shots and much, much more! Currently, Noah travels monthly to Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York for his scans or a very painful 3f8 Monoclonal Antibody Maintenance Therapy. Through all of this he has never lost his amazing smile. Way too much for a boy who is only 10 years old to endure.
This year instead of donating on my head, I am asking you to please donate to my 8th grade son Jacob, this will be the 4th year that Jacob will be shaving his head. Jacob is really good friends with Noah’s brother Nathan. Jacob has “volunteered” with great enthusiasm every year to shave his head in honor of Noah. As a parent, I am so incredibly proud of what he is doing. He is hoping to raise $2,500, with your help I would love to see him blow past that number! Please cut and paste his link and donate: http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/jacobd2011
I am asking you to please donate something on Jacob’s head - every dollar helps. Even five or ten bucks can and will make a difference!
God bless you and let's pray that 2012 is the year that a cure is found for this horrid disease!
