Hi! My name is Anderson, and I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved again this year to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Last year I raised $1,895!! Not bad for an 8 year old...
When I first asked my parents if I could do this last year, they were not quite as excited as I was. But when I looked at my mom and said "I'm just getting a haircut - it's not like I will have cancer or anything," how could they refuse? Especially when there are so many kids (like the amazing Ashley Burnette) who do not have a choice. Even though Ashley is my age, see how she continues to tackle Stage IV Neuroblastoma and PTLD (Post-Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder/Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) with her incredible smile and positive attitude at http://www.ashleyburnette.com.
Dr. Gold, who is one of Ashley's doctors at UNC, organizes a St. Baldrick's event in May to honor Ashley and all of the many children receiving treatment at UNC. They are working on Ashley's dad to put together an "Ashley's Angels" team for that event. In the meantime, I am hopeful that Ashley, along with her parents Hunter and Nicole and big sister Olivia, will be able to join us at The Factory in February. Feel free to join our team or just come out to watch the fun! Thank you for your help.
I hope you will be able to make a small donation to help find a cure for childhood cancer. The St. Baldricks volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
