Last year I raised money for the Special Olympics by going to Vermont and jumping into Lake Champlain in the middle of February when the water temperature was 34 degrees and the air temperature was 28 degrees. If y'all don't know, it takes me 30 minutes to get into a pool when the water temperature is 85 degrees and the air temperature even higher. This year I am staying closer to home but doing something just as daring. I am raising money for the St. Baldrick's foundation by going to Fado Irish Pub in Austin on March 10th and having my head shaved bald. My best friend and her daughter from Vermont are flying down here and my best friend Kim, who also happens to be a hair dresser is going to be my Barber. I don't know what kind of shape my head is or if it's blaring white but niether do the kids that go through cancer treatment and usually lose their hair in the process. I have a choice to do this and it's temperary, they don't.
So, lets talk donations. I am very competitive and have noticed I am way behind another shavee in dollars. Please donate what you can, a dollar, five dollars, or $1,000. For incentive, whoever donates $1,000 I pledge to tattoo your name or initials on my head. If not, I'm still getting a tattoo on my head, but it'll be to my choosing. Also, I am hoping as many people that want to will join us at Fado's and the tattoo parlor after. Should be a good, smooth time. And if I mispelled any words here it's because I didn't have spell check.
