I've answered the call to be a hero, to be Swedish MeatBALD! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
I have been a member of the Pikes Peak Derby Dames since June 2011 and I am so excited to have this opportunity to team up with St. Baldrick's on March 10th. It's amazing that some can say that "Roller Derby saved their soul", but sadly most people can say that cancer has effected their lives and I count myself as one of them. My life has been affected by cancer since my father was diagnosed and beat cancer when I was eleven, and since then many of my family members have fought all types of cancers.
I try to do my part to fight cancer when I can by volunteering at "Race for the Cure" and attending "Relay for Life" many years, but this is my first time doing St. Baldrick's and I am so excited. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
