This will be my 8th year shaving my head for the St Baldrick's Foundation. In years past I have actively participated and spoke optimistically of the progress made in the war against pediatric cancer. This year's event will occur the day after what should have been my beautiful daughter Jennifer's 22nd birthday. Despite a 6 year battle and a dynamic spirit, she made the ultimate sacrifice in this war against a ruthless enemy. Many other children have given their lives as well. These tragic passings are a reminder that there is still much work to be done to defeat this terrible disease.
Please support me with your donations big or small to help fund the research needed to find an answer and bring an end to this evil disease that preys on children. This year instead of Jennifer shaving my head, I can only have my head shaved in her loving memory.
While the St Baldrick's events are always a great experience and a lot of fun, its easy to lose sight of the seriousness of their mission. St Baldrick's; by investing in the most promising research and talent specific to pediatric cancers, is our best hope towards achieving the ultimate goal. We have to win this war and put an end to pediatric Cancer...Now!
