I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Donna's Good Things

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Donna's Good Things

As Donna's Mom -- the gal who carried her and cared for her and buried her, you would think that I could shave my head for her. I don't think I can. I am afraid, you see. I am afraid that I would look at myself every day in the mirror and be even more reminded of the cancer that took Donna from us. I work hard to not be bitter or angry, so there is it, my unvarnished excuse. Instead, I support the shavees of the Donna's Good Things team for St. Baldrick's and the $20K they are working to raise to fund research for pediatric cancer on Saturday, 24 March 2012, the five year anniversary of Donna's diagnosis. I will volunteer at the event and shave your head, too, if you ask me. I am so proud of our Team Captain, a reader of my blog Mary Tyler Mom, who took it upon herself to organize this event that I support whole heartedly, if not whole headedly. Please consider making a donation for Donna, the children that came before her, the children that will follow her and for all the parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters of these amazing kids with cancer.
