I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Team Fiscus
Hi my name is Alexandra I am 9 years old. I want to raise money for kids who have cancer because I think they deserve to get better and find a cure for this terrible illness.
I have a friend whose 4 year old cousin at the time had cancer in his bones. He has been fighting this for the last two years and just found out recently that he has been given a clean bill of health after all he has been through.
Last year our family friend Mr. Mike raised money and shaved his head for St. Baldricks and he is doing it again this year. He told me that people shave their heads for this charity because children lose their hair during their treatments and this is a way of showing them that they are not the only ones.
Mr. Mike said if I raised $100.00 I could help shave his hair off at the Full Kilt Fundraiser and help children too. I was so excited to get this challenge that I started immediately.
The very first person I asked to donate was a neighbor I saw when we were out to eat that very night and I explained about what my goal was to help raise money and they gave me my first $20.00 to get me started. It felt so good to do this that the very next day my Dad came with me to set out to reach my goal. I am so happy to say I have already exceeded that $100 goal.
Thanks to everyone who has helped me achieve my goal and I cant wait to shave Mr. Mike's head for a very good cause.
