I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dear Friends and Family, I am writing to tell you exciting news...I am shaving my head on March 29, 2008. Why you might ask? Because my little sister, Molly had cancer and I want to help end this disease. I am shaving my head at a St. Baldrick's event in Rockville Centre, NY. St. Baldrick's is the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family. Cancer affected my whole family. It took away my time to play with my sister, my mom and my dad. It was a very sad and scary time in my life when Molly was sick. When Molly first got sick, she just had a fever...I had no idea cancer was coming. I am very happy that Molly does not have cancer now but I'm very sad that other kids are still sick. You can help save other kids with cancer if you donate to this really great group. I hope you will donate because I will be very happy if I can reach my goal of a thousand dollars. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. Thank you all very much for helping me and all kids who have cancer. Love, Billy
