I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Andrew 4 Life

August 2007 my son, Andrew, was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma. I type of liver cancer. I never felt so helpless in my life. My son was sick and there was nothing that I could do. My son's life was put into the trusting hands of the oncologist, surgeons, nurses, and staff at the Costas Center at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. I could not have asked for a better staff of caring and wonderful people. They took care of my son and family and treated us as their own family. While we were there we learned of the St. Baldrick's Foundation and the fact that the cancer care and treatment that my son was receiving would not be possible without them. My husband instantly decided that he wanted to get involved and that was the first year that he shaved. He shaved one more time and then I decided that I wanted to shave also!! This will be my third year shaving my head and I look forward to it every year. This is a charity that is very close to my heart and my family's hearts. I have made it my goal to shave every year that I am physically able to until there is a cure. Please help me in my goal to raise funds for childhood cancer research. No child or family should have to go through the enduring pain and suffering that we had to endure. My son is here and cured and a happy as can be. His cancer is completely gone and he only has minimal side effects from his treatment. He is a wonderful child and to this day wears his hair proudly buzzed to look like his daddy. He just does not understand that daddy did it to look like him.
