I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Lane Tech Students

Good morning Teachers, friends, sisters and brothers,

I am not a good seller, I never did sell candy or cookies or that kind of stuff for my children. I always felt uncomfortable. So I am not selling this, what I am doing is asking you if you can in some way support Children's cancer research by either; spreading the word, sending up positive energy or making a donation at your comfort level. The cause would appreciate it. If you are making a donation and feel comfortable making it under my name I would love it. I got a proposition yesterday from my team mate. She said, "I will donate more if you put a water tattoo on your bald head. What do you think my response was?"

On a personal note I have lost three members of my wedding party to cancer. I have been married a little over three years. Susanna Kist was the piano player, Maynard Batie the father of my church who couldn't make to the wedding due to cancer and most recently Willie Gunn my very dear friend, teacher, sister, mother and all she was for me. I know these people aren't children in the sense of their years on earth. I just feel like I can do something here to help others.

I appreciate the support I received when I announced my decision to participate in this event you do not know how much that touched my heart. Now I want to challenge someone to go with me to the event to take pictures of my head being shaved. If you are interested and would like to come let me know. I forgot I work until 4:30 on the day of the event and I need to get to Addison and Western. This is another way to support this effort.

Thank you for all you do on a daily basis, for the children and families and your co workers. The smiles go miles on gloomy days.

With all the things going on around the world, the many things out of my control. So many devastating losses these past few years of people to cancer. I just feel I have an opportunity to do something. I feel as though I have some control in this. I can do something that can impact someone else. Please join me in a way that is comfortable and in control for you. Everything is appreciated. Peace
