I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Fiscus

I will be shaving my head again this year to raise money for childhood cancer research with St. Baldricks. Last year I raised over $2000 and hope to beat that this year. This year's the event will take place in Mount Clemens at Full Kilt. People can donate for my shaving or sign up to shave their own! Since its inception in 2000, St. Baldrick's has raised more than $34 million and grown into the world's largest fundraising event for childhood cancer. Worldwide 160,000 kids are diagnosed with cancer each year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. St. Baldrick's research grants help fill crucial funding gaps at medical institutions where children are treated for cancer, ensuring the finest care for every child. The St. Baldrick's Foundation has funded 13 research fellows, launching brilliant new careers in childhood cancer research. And grant funds have been distributed to over 230 institutions for laboratory research and to help make clinical trials available to more children than ever, giving those children treatment that offers the best chance for a cure. While battling cancer, children lose not only their hair but years of their childhood, and sometimes their lives. In comparison to their struggle, shaving my head is a small sacrifice, and the money raised will make a difference for children with cancer now and in the future. This year I do this in honor our friends Anne and Loris Costa of Washington Twp, whose son Noah, age 6, is currently going through treatment for Neuroblastoma. Noah plays superstar soccer in our AYSO program along with his two brothers. I also do this in honor of my friends Jameson and Emily MacBeth, who lost their 2-year-old daughter to cancer in 2002. Please consider signing up to shave and raise money yourself! Nothing like a free haircut and the great feeling of helping the kids. Thank you Michael Fiscus Photos from last year: http://www.michaelfiscus.org/fiscus/SB.html That goal has been hit!!! Lets shoot for $3k!
