I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Alicia / AJ Renner & Associates

Hello Everyone, I know last year I said that it was the very last year I was getting my head shaved, but if you look at my current picture you'll know why I need to shave my head again... ski trip to Vail! But the main reason I’m shaving my head again is that the St. Baldrick's event is just too good of a charity NOT to participate in! If you remember from past St. Baldrick’s e-mails I got involved with St. Baldrick’s because my niece Alicia was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ewing's_sarcoma 4-years ago, and 3-years ago she had a Stem Cell transplant. The good news is that Alicia is doing great and continues to beat the odds and this dreaded disease! The bad news is that my dad - Ed, Eddie, Pat, Paddy (he's got a lot of names) unfortunately was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin Lymphoma http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Hodgkin_lymphoma last spring and spent the better part of 2010 receiving chemo treatments. The good news is that Ed, Eddie, Pat, Paddy is also doing great and can now add Cancer Survivor to his long list of names. This year I'm getting my head shaved at a different venue because my brother in-law Patrick had his head shaved last week on Fox News by my niece Alicia while I was in Vail. Fortunately, my good friend Keith Boudart (also a cancer survivor) started his own event several years ago in South Elgin after hearing about St. Baldrick’s Foundation through one of my St. Baldrick's emails. Since Keith is a cancer survivor he felt that the St. Baldrick’s Foundation was a great way to help others with cancer. With that said - I will be getting my head shaved this Saturday (March 5, 2011) @ Amici's Clubhouse (456 Redington Drive) in South Elgin, IL sometime after 1pm (I’ll email the exact time when I find out). If you have a chance, please stop by for the event and more importantly if you have the means please consider donating to this great cause!
