I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Transatlantic

I’m going to do something pretty extreme, and I’m asking for your support. I’m going to have my head shaved at a St. Baldrick’s Foundation event on Thursday, March 17th at Jim Brady’s.

Although I intended to shave my head for this event in 2012 when I have acquired more industry contacts (and the ability to raise more money), after talking to my brother, I thought twice and decided to do it this year. While growing up, my brother, Daniel, had leukemia from the ages of 4-8. His chances of living were incredibly slim (below 10%) and the procedures he was going through were very new to the medical world and incredibly risky. I am so happy to be able to say that he currently is a healthy 30 year old man (and good friend and brother) today. I am very proud of him - the courage that it takes for a four year old boy to go though as many treatments as he went through is unbelievable. Although it is really hard for me to shave my head (especially considering I have never had hair above shoulder length), it is with great pride that I shave my head for this cause. My brother will be at this event standing by my side. Also, since I have longer hair, I am donating my hair to Locks of Love!

Please make a donation on my head, and come watch me and others “shaving the way to conquer kids’ cancer!”

You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!

In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.

Thank you for your support!
