I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Choice. A word most of us probably take for granted in our everyday lives. Every morning we make a choice of whether to wake up on time or not, what will we eat for breakfast, which way will we take to get to work, etc. There are several instances where we don't even realize we have a choice because it comes automatic, almost like breathing. But everyday, in every aspect of life, we're constantly faced with choices that will send us in one direction or another. Most of these choices are insignificant and we can easily recover from most if we make the wrong choice.
I'm focused on the word choice because its the reason that I'm shaving my head for St. Baldrick's. None of the kids that have cancer had a choice when they were diagnosed, they had to deal with it whether they were ready or not. The numerous stories that I hear about the courage shown by each child when faced with all the treatment and uncertainty that comes with cancer makes me very humble of everything I have.
The next time you're thinking about going to lunch for the third or fourth time during the week, hold off and donate the money to St. Baldrick's. The next time you're thinking of buying something at the mall, hold off and donate the money to St. Baldrick's. It doesn't have to be a large amount and every little bit counts. It's going to a good cause.
