I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

A few months ago I met with my close friend Amanda Burigatto who had cut her very long hair really short. Why did you do that I asked? "Because I gave it to my mom" she said simply. Theresa Burigatto was undergoing chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer. As she was expected to lose her hair Amanda decided to cut her own hair and have a wig made for her mom. That's love I thought. Theresa Burigatto died December 29th 2010, on Amanda's 30th birthday.

I don't think there is anyone out there who hasn't been affected by cancer. Since becoming a dad myself it has brought it home to me tenfold how brave little children undergoing chemotherapy are, and the courage and strength parents must find as they see their loved ones suffer. The biggest word for everyone here is hope, as without it there is nothing. St. Baldricks provides some of that hope. I am proud to say my good friend Enda McDonnell is co-founder and over the years his stories have inspired me. So much so that I have decided to pledge my blonde locks in exchange for raising funds for life saving research. Let's find a cure for this disease. Please donate generously to this very very worthy cause, for all the special children out there & of course to see me bald!! Thank you everyone for the support!

I would also like to dedicate shaving my head to Theresa Burigatto.
