I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Yes, I'm actually shaving my head! This is something that I have felt passionate about since I heard of the event 6 years ago when a friend handed me a pamphlet.

I have known many people to pass with the ugly disease cancer but most of them have lived a pretty full life. These children that get diagnosed with cancer everyday don't always get to experience the world. One in every five kids don't survive this deadly disease.

The St. Baldrick's foundation was created in 2000 and has raised over 90 million dollars for cancer research. My hair will be donated and then shaved in honor of these strong kids. I have chosen one specific child to honor. She's a 5 year old named Abbey from Bedford Ohio who was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 3. The chemo cause her to develop a blood clot on her brain which led her to need shots twice a day in her arms and legs. She is in a maintenance phase now that the clot dissolved and her hair is growing back. I look forward to meeting her and letting her know that I am doing this on behalf of her.
Thank you for even viewing my page, thank you even more if you donate as every dollar counts but even more please spread the word. With all your help maybe one day there will be a cure.
